Autumnal girlies, unite! It’s the most beautiful time of year once again, full of pumpkin spice, falling leaves, candles, and apple cider. Also, a fall color palette and cozy clothes to help us feel like we can take on the world! It’s time to find those fall fashion pieces!
Along with taking part in all the fall activities with the kiddos, comes all the fall clothing options that you will be wearing during these activities! Cute, cozy, comfortable, and cheerful fall fashion is what we are here for. What if I added one more adjective to the mix? What if that adjective was thrifted?
Fall is actually one of my favorite seasons to thrift for. It’s not so hot that you can be extremely limited to what you can wear, nor is it so cold that the same problem can arise. You have more options when it comes to styling pieces. You also have the opportunity to mix things up even more than in any other season.
Where does the “on the go” come in?
Perhaps with all the fun fall activities with family and friends, a busier schedule can ensue. Trying to get ready while embracing your style with kids of any age can perhaps be a challenge. If you have littles, it can be an even bigger challenge. Been there. If I want to get fully ready without any interruptions, I need to get up before my toddler daughter wakes up. I also possibly need a reeaalllyy good distraction for her. Even then, the interruptions can happen. Therefore, we mamas need quick solutions to getting ready while still embracing our autumnal look that we love so much.
The key is finding fall fashion pieces that can be put together in multiple ways. They can be layered upon each other, while looking cute alone if it’s a warmer fall day. They should be easy pieces to throw on in order to clutch on to the cozy factor while making you feel like you are ready to take on the day.
Finding pieces of clothing that can work in multiple ways are also easier to thrift. This is due to not having to find something extremely specific.
What kind of outfits will I be showing?
I will show you 5 different fall outfits that include thrifted pieces. In addition, I chose 5 outfits that I would wear for 5 different fall activities!
When it comes to thrifting, it’s most likely that you will not find the exact pieces that I, or anyone else have incorporated into an outfit. However, similar pieces can absolutely be found and incorporated into outfits that have the same elements and style that you wish you embrace!
It actually can make the process more fun! Once you see a style you like, you might find something that is similar, but in a different pattern or fabric, for example, that suits your style more!
Where did I get these pieces?
I purchased these thrifted pieces from a variety of places. One of my favorite secondhand shopping sources is ThredUp.
ThredUp is the largest online secondhand shopping source for fashion. They have been around since 2009 and their eco impact is astounding. The best part is that they summarize your personal eco impact on the planet! When you purchase items, they keep track of how many pounds of CO2e you’ve avoided, how many gallons of water you’ve saved, and how many kWh of energy you saved! Not only are you getting quality, secondhand pieces that you love, but you are making a huge impact on the planet!
This is where most of my secondhand clothing comes from! They are getting new items every day, and they are always having sales. You can scroll through the featured items, items that are in season, and items that are on trend. It’s super user friendly and trust me when I say that you will become addicted.
I also purchase a good number of secondhand pieces from Goodwill. Goodwill is a nationwide thrift store chain that you have most likely heard of. They are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to fight unemployment and underemployment while being a leading provider of educational and work-related resources. It’s such a good cause!
